Destination of the Day – Kansas City

The Q Hotel Kansas CityFor another great location that isn’t too tough on the pocket book, Kansas City is a great choice. With a huge influx of developments both large-scale and grassroots, it has become very popular in the arts. Recently the $326 million Moshe Safdie–designed Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts opened and features the Kansas City Ballet, Symphony and Lyric Opera as well as many other performances.

Even after this nice addition though the prices have stayed comfortable for visitors, hotels and rental cars are the same low prices they were back in 2010. You can find a room for around $137 per night and cars costing only $55 a day. September is a great time to visit, but it’s advised to skip July when it is more crowded and a lot hotter. The Q Hotel And Spa is a great place to stay and is one of the first green hotels, eco-friendly with great Guatemalan coffee.
